Desktop a ➝ OTF

Fonts are software files, and a Desktop License (OTF) allows the usage of the font software. Anyone who installs a font on their computer needs this license. A single license can be used by a single entity (e.g. a company or a designer) and is limited to installing the software on up to 2 computers, all of which must be located in the same geographical location (same address). There is no such thing as a “commercial license” or “non-commercial license”, rather - anyone who installs the fonts on their computer must have a license. This license is just like every other software installed on your computer (e.g. Photoshop or Office). If you would like to embed the font as live text on a website or app, you must acquire an additional license (Webfont or App).

Extended Desktop License

This license should be purchased in the following instances:
If you would like to install the font on more than 2 computers.
If you’re interested in transferring the font files to third parties (who will not be allowed to use the font outside your projects).
The cost of this license is X4 the full price of the font when purchasing a font family, and X6 the full price of a font when purchasing a single font weight.

Webfont ➝ Web

Webfont License (Web) allows the user to embed the the font as live text on an internet website. This type of license must be registered under the name of the website’s owner, and can be used on a single website (domain) with no more than 1 million monthly page views. This license is not meant for fonts you wish to install on your computer (for this purpose, you must purchase a Desktop License).
It is customary for the website’s owner to purchase this type of license (we recommend designers and design studios to put this into the contract as the client’s responsibility, alongside domain name payment and storage space). Agencies that have a large number of client websites, such as design firms or web hosting providers, cannot use a single webfont license over a large number of client websites. After purchasing the fonts you will receive a package with the webfont files you’ve acquired alongside embedding instruction manual. The files must then be sent to a professional programmer for embedding according to our instruction manual.

Information for programmers: our font packages include font files in the following formats: WOFF, TTF (web-only), EOT - and must be embedded using @font-face technology supported by the following browsers.

Extended Webfont License

Websites that have over 1 million monthly views require an extended Webfont license. This license allows unlimited views and unlimited websites, given that all websites in which the font is embedded are owned by the license owner or the owner’s direct clients, should the owner provide design or website building services.
The cost of this license is X4 the full price of the font when purchasing a font family, and X6 the full price of a font when purchasing a single font weight.
An extended license is also required in order to allow the user to use the font for typing.

Application License ➝ App

This license allows the user to embed the font in an application or computer program. This license can be used in one application or computer software with up to 1 million installations/downloads, on a single platform (such as Android or Apple). Like the Web license, this license must also be registered to the owner of the app or software and not the designer or programmer.

Extended Application License

Applications with over 50,000 installations/downloads and/or are available for download on multiple platforms must have an extended license. This extended license allows unlimited installations/downloads and unlimited platforms in which the font can be installed.
The cost of this license is X4 the full price of the font when purchasing a font family, and X6 the full price of a font when purchasing a single font weight.
